Facility Description
Novara provides its services from a strategically chosen research site in Mesa, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix, across from Banner Baywood Medical Center and other medical facilities. Our center has two exam rooms, three patient interview rooms, staff offices, a well-equipped laboratory with specimen refrigerator, an ECG machine, a secure room for study medications, a comfortable waiting room and reception area, and two private offices with phone and high-speed internet connections for monitoring.
 
Arnold Adriaanse– CEO

Arnold Adriaanse has more than 25 years of experience developing and successfully managing global high-tech sales, marketing, professional services and product organizations. His assignments include working for companies such as Oracle Corporation, Aspect Communications, Novell Inc. and eGain Communications.

Mr. Adriaanse’s career also includes key management positions at CAP/Gemini and AES/Lanier. He has lived and worked in Europe and the United Sates and conducted business in over 20 countries throughout the world. He is co-founder and CEO of Genova Clinical Research in Tucson, Arizona. A Dutch native, he is a graduate of Eerde International College in the Netherlands with a degree in Economics.
 
Dr. Terry E. O’Reilly, MD, Medical Director

Dr. O’Reilly has been involved in various aspects of clinical research for
more than 15 years including positions as Principal Investigator, Medical Director, IRB Board member and Senior Staff Physician and Director of Clinical Research. Dr. O’Reilly’s training and private practice in family medicine reflect her broad range of interest in areas of research.
 
Susan L. Ganter, LPN, CCRC, Clinical Research Coordinator

Sue has been in the health care field for over 20 years. She has been a research coordinator for more than 8 years in multiple therapeutic areas including significant experience in the demanding field of renal medicine. She also brings her expertise in participant enrollment and retention to Novara.
 
 
Laura L. Streff, MS, Receptionist/Patient Recruiter

Laura is new to the clinical research field but has over 17 years of experience in the health care area. She has extensive experience in community out-reach and health fair participation. Laura has spear-
headed Novara’s Community Events and Health Screenings Projects.

David Carfagno, DO

David Carfagno, DO, is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine (CAQ) having completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Carfagno has served as Principal Investigator for over 60 clinical trials. His research interests include musculoskeletal conditions, men’s health, women’s health, dermatology and neurology (primarily pain). He has conducted studies in the components of “metabolic syndrome” including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and obesity. In addition to clinical research, Dr. Carfagno’s professional interests in Sports Medicine include Medical Directorships for local, national and international sports teams and events. Dr. Carfagno is a published author and featured speaker on a variety of sports medicine topics including concussions, athletes with arthritis, steroid use in sports and sports supplementation.
