Chronic Gout

Do you suffer from GOUT ATTACKS?

If you have gout, you may be eligible to participate in the RE-SURGE study, evaluating an investigational medicine for preventing acute gout flares in select patients. Researchers are interested in determining the effectiveness and safety of the investigational medicine when used in combination with commonly used FDA-approved medicines for gout treatment.

To be considered for participation in the RE-SURGE study, you must:

  • Be 18-80 years of age,
  • Have a history of gout and are at risk of gout flare,
  • Be able to or are already receiving treatment with allopurinol, AND
  • Not currently be experiencing a gout flare.

The investigator will work with you to determine whether you qualify for the study, using a more comprehensive list of criteria. Qualified participants will receive study medicine as well as study-related medical evaluations at no cost. Reimbursement for time and travel may also be available.

Overactive Bladder

Your senior years should be spent having fun…not on the run.

As we age, OAB symptoms such as sudden urges to urinate and frequent wetting episodes become more common.

If you are frustrated living with OAB, you may be interested in a research study we are conducting to evaluate an approved medication for overactive bladder.

If you take part in this research study, you will attend five office visits over a 14-week period. If qualified, you will receive the study medication or placebo (an inactive look-alike pill) and study-related care at no cost. You may also be compensated for time and travel.

We are looking for male and female participants who:

  • Are age 65 or older
  • Have experienced overactive bladder symptoms for at least 3 months
  • Have strong, sudden urges to urinate
  • Experience frequent wetting episodes
  • Have health problems related to aging

Swimmer's Ear

Novara Clinical Research is currently conducting a clinical research study of a study drug or placebo for otitis externa (swimmer's ear).

Qualified participants will receive study medication or placebo and medical exams at no cost.

Compensation is available for time and travel.

Do You Have Type 2 Diabetes?

We are enrolling adult volunteers now

If you have type 2 diabetes, find out if you qualify for a clinical research study of an investigational oral diabetes medication.

You may be eligible if:

  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, AND
  • You are age 30 or older and have had a heart attack or stroke, or other vascular problem

OR

  • You are 50 or older and have been told by your doctor that you are at high risk for heart disease

If eligible to participate, you will be seen by a study doctor and receive study-related testing and study medication at no cost. Once enrolled, you may be reimbursed for parking and travel expenses.

Pediatric Migraine

Novara Clinical Research is looking for pediatric subjects to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational drug, MK-0462 (rizatriptan) compared to placebo (an inactive substance) in pediatric subjects ages 6-17 with migraines.

This study lasts approximately 4 months and has 2 office visits. Study-related drugs (may include placebo), lab work, and study-related physical exams are provided to participants in this study at no cost. Compensation is available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel.

Your child may be eligible for this study if:

  • Your child has had at least one, but not more than 8 moderate or severe migraine attacks per month for the past 2 months
  • Your child cannot have experienced satisfactory relief of their migraine pain through acetaminophen or any NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen, aleve)
  • Parent or guardian must accompany child to first appointment

Pediatric Migraine (Long-term)

This study lasts approximately 12 months and has 8 office visits. Study-related drugs (may include placebo), lab work, and study-related physical exams are provided to participants in this study at no cost. Your child may be eligible for this study if:

  • Your child has had at least 1 but not more than 8 moderate or severe migraine attacks per month for the past 2 months

Chronic Constipation

Novara Clinical Research is looking for subjects to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational drug vs. placebo (an inactive substance) for people with chronic constipation.

This study lasts approximately 4 weeks and has approximately 6 office visits.  Study-related drugs (may include placebo), lab work, and study-related physical exams are provided to participants in this study at no cost. Compensation is available to qualified participants for each completed visit for time and travel.

Subjects interested in this study should:

  • Be between 18 and 75 years of age
  • Have had symptoms constipation for at least 3 months
  • Have fewer than 3 BM's per week
  • Not have been diagnosed or treated for cancer in the last 5 years (treated basal or squamous cell skin cancer is ok)
